Hello all!

Goin's on ...

We've adapted as best we can to the hot days. Today makes 4 in a row around 95, not so bad when you're at work in an air-conditioned office, but pretty brutal when you're out hoeing! I've started going out and doing most of my outside work from 6-9 in the morning, before it gets too crazy. Then some more in the evening.

Many thanks to Melissa for helping us at the truck last week, our market day of the year so far! Much appreciated Melissa!

This week's produce will include.. (new/back)

  • Greens: arugula, beet greens, cabbage, chard, cress (pepper), lettuce (head & leaf), kale, mustard, pea shoots & spinach.
  • Veggies: beans (green, yellow & fava), beets, carrots, cauliflower, cucumbers (Diva, slicers & picklers), garlic (fresh stems w/bulbs, scapes & pesto packs), shiitake & blue oyster mushrooms, green onions, sugar snap peas, cayenne peppers, potatoes, radishes, summer squash mix, tomatoes (red & sungold) & zucchini.
  • Herbs: Sampler, basil, chives, lemon balm, Greek oregano, French sorrel & mint (peppermint, spearmint & our meadow tea simple syrup pack). Small amounts of several others.
  • Fruit & berries: blueberries, cherries, peaches, plums & rhubarb. (Raspberrieswill be available at the table by the truck again on Saturday.)
  • Poultry & Cheese: eggs, the usual cheeses (plus ash logs & demi sec).
  • Miscellany: apple sauce, honey, maple syrup, strawberry jam.
The season dictates that ...
We stop with the frozen hens for now, with the temps as they are we just can't guarantee they'll arrive fully frozen. Also, no more cheeses at the truck to pick up... again, too iffy with the high temps. Both will be back when things cool down again in the Fall.

[photo] It's not all work and no play here. Anna is home for two weeks, and she and Sam went kayaking yesterday afternoon.

Hope there's something on the list that looks or sounds good to you. Have a good week, and we hope to see you Saturday.

Thanks for your support,
