Hello all!

[photo] I guess this about says it all. The summer crop's all officially froze this morning. What makes us not-so-sad is that we spent almost all day Monday harvesting everything that was on the plants (or in some cases the plants themselves), so that we can still offer you a last-taste-of-summer this week.

Last tastes of summer ...

  • sweet peppers (chiles will hold several weeks)
  • tomatillos (though some will hold also)
  • green tomatoes (all the reds are done; scratch; zero; nada)
  • several herbs (garlic chives, cutting celery, lovage ... c'mon, you know you're curious...)

Around for awhile yet (new or back) ...

  • Greens: baby arugula, bok choi, cabbage, rainbow chard, Italian dandelions, Lacinato kale,Romaine lettuce, micro-greens mix, mustard, pea shoots, baby spinach, stir fry greens mix & tat soi.
  • Veggies: beets, broccoli, carrots, cauliflower, fennel, garlic, kohlrabi, leeks, Lemongrass & curry pack, onions, peppers (sweet & hot), potatoes, radishes (red, daikon & purple), shallots, sorrel soup pack, sweet potatoes, tomatillos, tomatoes (green & cherry) and winter squashes.
  • Herbs: chives, garlic chives, cutting celery, cilantro, lemongrass, lovage, mints (spear & pepper), parsley, rosemary, sage, sorrel & our mini-sampler.
  • Eggs: Chicken and duck
  • Cheese & butter: Both, including goat ash buche & demi-sec.
  • Preserves: Yes. Many selections.
  • Fruit tree crops: apples & pears (Asian & bosc).
  • Campfire wood: Last chance!!

[photo] I caught the baby arugula in the greenhouse showing off how much it had had to drink. More than it needed, evidently.

Thanks for your support,
Randy, Chris & Sam at ...

[photo] Sam's cabin in the woods, showing off the heat coming out of the tiny woodstove he installed over the last few weeks. The stove is about a foot square, and was made to be used on boats .

The sides on the high tunnels got rolled down last night for the first time in about 4 months. Glad we did!

The garlic we planted less than two weeks ago is already up! See the thin shoots in rows about a foot apart?
