Hello all,

[photo] This is one of our Fall roots patches where the various turnips and radishes are coming along nicely. Beets are in a nearby patch.

This week's produce (new or back)...

  • Greens: arugula, cabbage, chard, kale, lettuce, pea shoots & stir fry mix.
  • Veggies: beans (incl. Lima & Vermont Cranberry), beets, broccoli, carrots, celeriac, corn, eggplant, fennel, garlic,kohlrabi, okra, onions, peppers (both sweet & hot, incl. orange snack peppers), potatoes, scallions, shallots, sorrel soup pack, sweet potatoes, tomatillos, tomatoes & winter squash (incl. delicata).
  • Mushrooms: Criminis
  • Herbs: basil, chives, garlic chives, cutting celery, cilantro, lemon balm, mints, parsley, rosemary, sage, shiso, sorrel, stevia, tarragon, our mini-sampler & Scarborough Fair Mix.
  • Eggs: Yes, from our hens and the Byers' organic flock.
  • Cheese & butter: Both.
  • Preserves: Yes.
  • Specialty fruit & tree crops: Cantaloupes, grapes, husk cherries, apples (incl. Jonathan) & peaches
  • Campfire wood: for your outdoor fire ring.

[photo] This is the Barn Bottom field below the high tunnels, where I just planted rye as a winter cover crop, with the aim of building soil organic matter and protecting the soil, particularly in the event of a flood from the creek, which is less than 100 feet to the right of where I stood to take this picture. It's supposed to rain over the next four days now, so that should get the crop started.
