Hello all,

It's been a dreary, yucky day here, although I should be happy that the thunderstorm called for actually went booming by us within sight but didn't do much here, although our power did go out for about five minutes -- always fun for me on a Tuesday as I'm at the computer building the store.

This week's produce has taken a further shift towards Fall...

  • Greens: arugula, cabbage, kale, lettuce, pea shoots, spinach & stir fry mix.
  • Veggies: beans, beets, broccoli, carrots, celeriac, corn, eggplant, fennel, garlic, kohlrabi, okra, onions, peppers (several new types or packs, both sweet & hot), potatoes, shallots, sorrel soup pack, sweet potatoes, tomatillos, tomatoes & winter squash (acorn & butternut).
  • Mushrooms: Criminis
  • Herbs: basil, chives, garlic chives, cutting celery, cilantro, lemon balm, mints, oregano, parsley, rosemary, sage, shiso, sorrel, stevia, tarragon, our mini-sampler & Scarborough Fair Mix.
  • Eggs: Yes, but for the first time in over a year we're coming up shorter than we'd like. Sorry!
  • Cheese & butter: Both.
  • Preserves: Yes, we've re-stocked!
  • Specialty fruit & tree crops: Grapes (Concord & seedless), husk cherries, apples & peaches
  • Campfire wood: for your outdoor fire ring (or your fireplace tonite!).

[photo] I guess we think we're pretty hot stuff about now, with chiles coming in fast if not furious.

Thanks for your support,
Randy, Chris & Sam at ...

As you know, Labor Day weekend got off to a pretty miserable start with the rainy Saturday. As often happens, things got better and we spent a beautiful Sunday afternoon at the ballpark in Hagerstown watching the Suns win their next-to-last ballgame of the season. They are a National's single-A farm team.
